In the latest episode of Vanderpump Rules, Jax Taylor is visibly more agitated and vein-popping than usual. Following his wedding and birthday celebrations, he finds himself overshadowed, leading to an escalation in his temper.
Initially, Jax, who has distanced himself from his friend Tom Sandoval due to perceived shortcomings in their friendship, decides to spend an afternoon with him, spending $122 to clean their sneakers. However, the outing turns tense when Jax’s credit card gets declined. In a bold move, he questions Sandoval’s long-standing relationship with Ariana, suggesting she often makes “backhanded comments.” “I thought she was being a total jerk many times,” Jax confides to Sandoval.
Sandoval attempts to offer some friendly advice. “Sometimes it’s good to just take a second, not get too responsive…” he starts. Jax acknowledges, “Oh, I’m terrible at that; I’m 100 percent terrible at that.” Sandoval reflects, “I feel like when Jax gets bored, he just picks something or somebody to focus all of his attention and anger on.”
Despite Sandoval’s attempts to de-escalate the situation, Jax continues to criticize Sandoval and Ariana’s relationship, voicing his frustrations to Scheana. He insists, “I’m tired of people not being honest. Everyone yells at me for being a liar, but others are just as fake—Kristen, Tom, Ariana.” Scheana counters, noting Kristen Doute has been quite open about her relationship with her ex, but this does not dissuade Jax from labeling Sandoval and Ariana’s relationship a “facade.”
“I just don’t see them happy together,” he insists, ignoring his own past of infidelity with his now-wife, Brittany. Jax adds, “Every time you don’t like a conversation, it’s, ‘I’m depressed.’” Scheana suggests, “Maybe he’s feeling jealous, perhaps because the wedding’s over and he’s not the center of attention anymore.”
Later, Jax dismisses Max Boyen’s beach cleanup event as “dumb and pointless,” yet paradoxically bombards Max with over 1,500 texts about it. Stassi remarks, “Jax is such an idiot. He will literally point fingers to absolve himself of wrongdoing.” Brittany candidly shares her struggles with Jax’s behavior, stating, “I married him knowing he was that person, so now I just have to deal with it.”
At a gathering, a visibly flustered Jax confesses to Max and Sandoval, “I’m going through some mental problems… I’m angry all the time.” Sandoval responds skeptically, suspecting Jax is merely trying to garner sympathy.
The friction escalates when Jax confronts Kristen about a rumored sex tape, only to discover his information is outdated. Kristen remains calm as Jax spirals further into frustration, claiming, “You’re lying to me.”
Brittany later confronts Jax at home about his outbursts, questioning why he takes his anger out on her. “You are allowed to have a bad day,” she asserts, “but don’t take it out on me when you’re feeling this way. It breaks my heart.”
