Welcome to week 9 of your pregnancy! Here’s what you can expect during this exciting time.
MIND:
Can you believe you’re already 9 weeks along? Your third month is just around the corner, and it feels like time is zipping by, especially with all the ups and downs of your first trimester! Pregnancy symptoms are in full swing, and you might be feeling more drained than ever. Morning, afternoon, and evening sickness may be your new constant companion, and those hormonal fluctuations could leave you feeling a bit moody and emotional. If you can manage to fend off the drowsiness (and the headaches from increased blood flow), consider nibbling on snacks throughout the day. It may sound odd, but keeping a little food in your stomach can help curb that nausea. Think small, frequent meals, and don’t forget to have some crackers by your bedside to munch on first thing in the morning. For some women, ginger candies might just do the trick!
BODY:
You might notice a slight change in your shape, but chances are, others probably can’t see it yet—even if you feel like that extra quarter-inch around your waist is glaringly obvious! You might be spending a significant portion of your day in the bathroom, thanks to your bladder being under pressure. Your body is working hard, so don’t hesitate to accept help when it’s offered! There are certain tasks you should definitely avoid during your pregnancy, including painting, cleaning with harsh chemicals, and handling kitty litter (which can host harmful parasites). Leave those chores to your partner or family members—after all, they signed up for this too!
BABY:
Your little one is now about the size of a piece of gum—imagine the sticky situations they’ll get into someday, leading to some hilariously awkward haircuts by you! Inside that tiny body, vital organs like the lungs, liver, kidneys, and brain are still developing. The heart chambers are forming, and those tiny baby teeth are beginning to take shape. Fingers crossed for a future without braces!
NEST:
There’s no rush to buy maternity clothes just yet. Grab some button extenders or belly bands to keep wearing those comfy jeans for a little while longer. And don’t forget about healthy snacks! When the nausea subsides, you’re bound to feel hungry, so stock up on nutritious options.

Summary:
At 9 weeks pregnant, you’re likely feeling the effects of early pregnancy symptoms while your baby is rapidly developing. Though you might notice some physical changes, they might not be obvious to others yet. Remember to take care of yourself and lean on those around you for support as your body navigates this incredible journey.
