The primary aim of any TV commercial is to persuade you to make a purchase or embrace a brand, but every so often, a 60-second spot manages to do more. We paused our fast-forwarding to laugh, cry, and appreciate some of the standout ads targeted at moms this year. Instead of rushing off for a snack or a bathroom break during these commercial breaks, we invite you to stick around and enjoy.
Mom as a Verb
This year, Yoplait tackled mom shaming in a relatable ad that features moms doing their thing—like breastfeeding in public, sporting yoga pants, and bribing kids to help with chores—while not caring what others think. In the end, Yoplait humorously admits that their yogurt isn’t made with organic, cage-free Norwegian hemp milk, but who cares? The kids love it!
An Olympic-Caliber Tearjerker
Emotions run high in this stunning #LoveOverBias Procter & Gamble ad for the Winter Olympics. Set to the tune of “O-o-h child, things are gonna get easier,” we watch a young African-American skier bouncing excitedly on her bed, surrounded by posters of white skiers. The ad features various athletes facing bias, all supported by their moms. It culminates with the powerful question, “Imagine if the world could see what a mom does,” as we witness the little girl, now grown, excel in the Olympics alongside her emotional mom, leaving us in tears too.
Help for Potty-Mouth Moms
We absolutely love this clever campaign from Kraft Macaroni & Cheese featuring Melissa Mohr, PhD, author of Holy Sht: A Brief History of Swearing. The ad kicks off with a survey revealing that 74 percent of moms curse in front of their kids. Mohr humorously suggests family-friendly alternatives to swear words, but as she navigates toy-strewn floors and cooks up mac and cheese, some expletives slip out. It’s hilariously relatable!
Letting Moms Define Motherhood
Dove introduced a new baby skincare line along with their #RealMoms campaign. Interestingly, the ad doesn’t showcase any products. Instead, it features diverse moms, including a transgender couple, affirming that there are many ways to raise a child. The ad delivers encouraging messages like “Do what fits your family,” all without any cheesy undertones. It’s heartwarming.
A Child’s View of Mom
For little ones, moms can seem like giants. This perspective shines in a Brawny paper towel ad filmed entirely by children. Each kid captures their own viewpoint of their mom, making for a charming and genuine portrayal.

From celebrating diverse parenting styles to providing hilariously relatable content, these commercials reminded us of the profound impact that mothers have in our lives.
