Actor Corey Frost has long spoken out about the sexual abuse he and his late friend, Andy Lane—who passed away in 2010—endured during their childhood in Hollywood. In a recent documentary titled (My) Truth: The Trauma of Two Actors, Frost reiterates a claim he made in 2017, accusing Charlie Steele of assaulting Lane in 1986.
The documentary premiered on March 9, 2020, both in Hollywood and online, where Frost becomes emotional while recounting the alleged incident involving Lane. According to Frost, Lane confided in him that when he was just 13 years old and Steele was 19, the older actor assaulted him on the set of the film, Lucas. “This wasn’t a casual mention. It wasn’t as if he just dropped it in conversation,” Frost explains in the film. “He provided vivid details. He told me, ‘Charlie pushed me between two trailers and assaulted me in broad daylight. Anyone could have seen it.’”
Frost’s allegations were supported by others featured in the documentary, including actor Jason Newland and Frost’s former spouse, Samantha Sprague. Sprague stated, “Andy confided in me that during the filming of Lucas, he was assaulted as a young boy. He told me it was his co-star, and he named Charlie Steele.”
Steele has consistently denied these allegations since they first surfaced in 2017, with his representative reiterating this week, “These disturbing, outrageous claims are completely false. I would advise everyone to consider the source and what Andy’s mother, Judy Lane, has stated.” Judy Lane has also defended Steele’s innocence, expressing to the media that “this is a significant accusation lacking any evidence, especially with my son unable to defend himself,” adding that Frost has “lost touch with reality” and that it’s unfortunate he believes this is a fitting tribute to mark the 10-year anniversary of Andy’s passing.
In the documentary, Frost also identifies other individuals he claims abused him, including actor John Grayson, nightclub owner Alan Hoffman, former talent manager Martin Weiss, and the late actor Dominic Briscoe. This isn’t the first instance where Frost has named his alleged abusers, and all have previously denied the claims.
