We need more visibility and acceptance of transgender women in prominent roles to foster understanding and compassion toward transgender people in everyday life.
Biden has pledged to ensure that his administration mirrors the diversity of the Americans he aims to protect—this includes transgender individuals like my daughter and nonbinary people like me. Even though the 2020 Census didn’t recognize my identity, I still contribute to society through work and taxes.
