It’s finally here! (Well, at least for some of us.) If you’re part of the healthcare sector, chances are you’ve already received your dose. The same goes for individuals aged 65 and older. Fingers crossed that teachers in your area will be next in line.

For the rest of us, there’s finally a glimmer of hope. People around us are getting their vaccinations, and new sign-up lists are popping up all the time—even for healthy folks like me, a 40-year-old who works remotely.

This is such an emotional moment, isn’t it? After everything we’ve endured, the idea that we can soon breathe easy, knowing we did our best to safeguard ourselves, our loved ones, and our community, feels monumental. But let’s be real—it’s not all smooth sailing while we wait. For one, the system isn’t perfect. Hearing about line-jumpers or discovering that your anti-mask neighbor is getting vaccinated before you can be downright infuriating.

It’s also tough to envision a world that truly goes back to the way it was. COVID has altered so much, and many aspects might never return to normal. Yet, we can still maintain hope and optimism. Just think about grabbing coffee with a friend, taking a family trip, or hosting a big holiday dinner next year—those moments could be on the horizon!

In any case, we have two words about the COVID vaccine: Let’s goooooo!
