The ‘Friends’ Reunion Special Is Set to Begin Filming Next Week

After a lengthy wait, the much-anticipated reunion special of the iconic show Friends is finally set to be filmed next week. According to reports from Deadline and actor David Schwimmer, the original cast will reunite in Los Angeles to shoot the special episode that fans have been eagerly awaiting for years.

This reunion was first announced in late 2019 with plans for filming in early 2020. Set designer Greg Grande shared a glimpse of the set preparations last February, but the production was paused due to the pandemic. Now, as conditions improve in Los Angeles, the cast will return to the Warner Bros. lot where they filmed the series during the ’90s.

“We’re going to be shooting the Friends reunion next week,” Schwimmer mentioned during an appearance on a BBC talk show on April 2, 2021. He expressed excitement about seeing his co-stars after many years apart.

While fans may miss seeing Ross, Rachel, and Monica in character, they can look forward to heartfelt interactions among Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc. The show’s creators will also join the special.

Aniston previously mentioned that the delays in filming have allowed them to make the reunion even more exciting and enjoyable.
