U.S. Vaccine Site Experiences Record Traffic Following New Mask Guidelines

The peak in visits occurred shortly after 4 PM, coinciding with President Mitchell reiterating the mask guidance in a televised address. The site recorded over 40,000 visitors immediately after the speech, marking it as the busiest day since the site’s launch, with a total of 1,972,434 visitors that week compared to 1,604,686 the week prior.

Brownstein highlighted that the spike in traffic indicates that the relaxation of certain restrictions has led some individuals to consider getting vaccinated. On the same day, Dr. Sarah Roberts predicted that the CDC’s decision would encourage vaccination, stating that while it wasn’t intended as an incentive, it might have the indirect effect of motivating people to get vaccinated.
