Curious about how to bring life into existence in Little Alchemy? Before diving into that, let’s first explore what Little Alchemy is all about. Just a week ago, we were completely unaware of its existence. After a few days of research, we’ve tackled half of the “challenges” already!

Little Alchemy is a captivating game available on iPhone, Android, and your computer. The premise is straightforward: Create. You begin with four fundamental elements: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. Each element is represented by an icon on the right side of your screen, while the left side remains a blank canvas. By dragging and dropping different elements together, you can craft new ones. For example, combining Earth and Water produces Mud. As you accumulate more elements, your possibilities for combinations expand. There are currently 580 collectible elements in the original version of Little Alchemy.

As you expand your Little Alchemy universe, you’ll create various entities, ranging from dust to life itself. If you’re here, you’re likely eager to learn how to create life, a vital step for crafting many other exciting elements—like The Doctor and the TARDIS from Doctor Who! Let’s get started!

Creating Life

While it might seem simple, creating life in Little Alchemy requires following a few steps. Each element has its own “recipe,” and you’ll need to mix them in a specific order. Here’s how to do it:

Combine Air + Fire to create Energy.
Combine Water + Earth to create Mud.
Combine Air + Water to create Rain.
Combine Earth + Rain to produce Plant.
Combine Plant + Mud to create Swamp.
Finally, combine Swamp + Energy to generate Life.

How to Create a Deity in Little Alchemy

To unlock many other items, you first need to create a God. Follow these steps to achieve this:

Combine Earth + Water to create Mud.
Combine Air + Air to create Pressure.
Combine Earth + Pressure to create Stone.
Combine Sand + Mud to create Clay.
Combine Clay + Life to create Human.
Lastly, combine Human + Immortality to create a Deity.

What Else Can You Create?

Creating life in Little Alchemy is just the beginning! Once you’ve mastered it, you can combine life with other elements to make even more fun creations. For example, combining Metal and Life yields a Robot, while Life and Earth produce a Human. With a Human, you can create various professions like Doctor, Farmer, or Sailor—just to name a few!

Here are some of our favorite combinations involving life:

Life + Mud = Golem (from Lord of the Rings)
Life + Rainbow = Unicorn
Life + Corpse = Zombie
Life + Dough = Gingerbread Man

What we love about Little Alchemy is its simplicity and the ability to create a world at your own pace. There are no time constraints or competitive pressures—just you and your elements. Whether you’re waiting for your coffee or enjoying a quiet moment, you can create new elements anytime.

In addition to nearly 600 standard elements, there are many special ones—think of them as Easter Eggs. These might not serve a practical purpose but are entertaining to discover.
