This sequel is poised to be a worthy competitor to the original.
If you’re searching for a family-friendly film that everyone, from kids to adults, will be eager to see, the newly released trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife will have you racing to find out its release date (which, sadly, isn’t until November). If the trailer is any indication of the movie’s quality, this sequel could become a classic — and let’s be honest, having Paul Rudd on board certainly adds to its appeal. The trailer is packed with family tension, an unexpected relocation, and plenty of ghosts that need to be rounded up and sent back to where they belong, away from the bustling town.
Expect to encounter both mischievous and friendly ghosts (hello, marshmallows!), as well as scenes of spirits grabbing coffee while others wreak havoc. There’s even a glimpse of a slime river reminiscent of the original 1984 film. With familiar faces like Annie Potts from Pretty in Pink (Janine Melnitz forever!), and the iconic Dan Aykroyd (who we hope has more than just a cameo), it’s hard not to feel the excitement. After all, he’s also an executive producer on the film.
Speaking of Paul Rudd, fans are thrilled to see him in a leading role, and honestly, who could resist that perpetually youthful appearance? When you’ve got it, you’ve got it.
