At some point, we all catch a glimpse of ourselves in the mirror, and suddenly we’re confronted with those five gray hairs that seem to appear out of nowhere. Add in the surprise adult acne, and it’s a wonder we don’t all panic. As I approach my 40th birthday in six months, I can’t help but notice how my face tells the tale of aging, complete with gray strands making an entrance from my hairline. Meanwhile, Paul Rudd, who is actually 52, looks like he’s in his 30s—definitely not fair!
The entire conversation kicked off when Asma Khan, an Indian restaurant owner in the U.K., shared a post on Twitter featuring Paul Rudd and Dan Levy, the actor from “Schitt’s Creek.” The internet was ablaze with excitement over this duo. Even those who aren’t straight can appreciate the charm of these two men. One user, Ashley, succinctly captured the sentiment: “What is Paul Rudd’s secret?”
Men joined the chatter as well, with comments reminding us of Rudd’s actual age. Others expressed disbelief at how their own aging processes don’t seem to match his. So, what is Paul’s secret to staying ageless? In a 2018 YouTube interview for “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” he humorously claimed that a significant portion of the film’s budget was allocated to de-aging him. Funny and handsome—what a combination!
One Twitter user, Esther, even offered a side-by-side comparison of Paul Rudd from 1995 to now, and the results left everyone wondering, how does he do it? Naturally, the internet is rife with theories about his supposed “Benjamin Button” magic.
While it’s clear that we can’t all age like Paul Rudd, it’s fun to speculate how he manages to defy time. In the quest for answers, PBS News Hour also attempted to uncover Rudd’s secrets to maintaining his youthful appearance, featuring insights from dermatologists. Unfortunately, concrete answers remain elusive.
As I deal with daily knee pain, the emergence of age spots, and the random chin hairs that come with motherhood, I can’t help but wonder—what’s the deal with Paul Rudd? It seems like he’s got life figured out.
