Tess Anderson recently shared heartwarming images from a family getaway, revealing she is celebrating a significant milestone in her life. On August 11, she took to Instagram to post a series of joyful photos from their vacation in Palm Springs, where her family was soaking up the sun. This trip marks two years since Anderson left a “toxic relationship,” and she reflected on her journey in her caption.

“Greetings from my first family vacation with my dad, step-mom, brother, and my two boys in Palm Springs!” she wrote. “I woke up today and realized the date — August 11th — it has been two years since I walked away from an abusive relationship. Here I am now with both my boys, reconnecting with family, and truly enjoying our time together, a reality I never thought I’d experience.”

“It’s not perfect, but I wanted to share this special moment with you because two years ago, I struggled to find a reason to live,” she continued. “I felt hurt, lost, and couldn’t imagine a life without pain. Today, while challenges still arise, I have developed the necessary tools and support systems to tackle them. I’ve reestablished family connections and distanced myself from toxic influences in my life.”

“Healing is attainable, and I’m living proof of that. I couldn’t be where I am without my family (both chosen and biological), my community, and all of you — thank you. 💞 IT’S A HOT & HEALING GIRL SUMMER!!!! Oh, and Bowie lost his first tooth today — how exciting!??”

Anderson previously discussed the dynamics of her “unhealthy” marriage to ex-partner, Nick Anderson, from whom she divorced after their 2015 wedding. She noted that many individuals affected by intimate partner violence don’t have the option to leave safely, stating, “Not everyone has the chance to escape (I fought my way out), and I hold space for those we have lost to domestic violence.”

It’s clear that Anderson and her family have much to celebrate, from her son’s milestone of losing his first tooth to enjoying quality time with loved ones. She truly deserves this joyful phase in her life.
