When she’s not watching “Vivo” on Netflix, my daughter is belting out the soundtrack in the shower or watching music videos on YouTube. Normally, this level of repetition would drive me crazy. “Do we really need to watch this again?” I think, feeling the sting of my streaming subscriptions. However, I can’t bring myself to voice that frustration out loud. Instead, I endure it, headphones in, trying to drown out her laughter at the same jokes or her enthusiastic attempts to memorize the songs she loves.
But here’s the twist: I don’t mind when it comes to “Vivo.” It’s refreshing to share in my daughter’s joy for this film. I’m usually a “one and done” viewer, but there’s something special about “Vivo” that makes repeated viewings enjoyable. Beyond the fantastic animation and catchiness of the songs, it’s the connection I feel with my daughter while we dance and sing together.
As a single mom trying to build a business from home, the past couple of years have been challenging. I often worry about finances, housing, and the general stress of life, especially with the ongoing pandemic.
