The Connally Independent School District in Waco, Texas, has temporarily closed following the tragic deaths of two teachers due to COVID-19. As the new school year begins amidst ongoing pandemic challenges, the loss of educators continues to make headlines. Reports indicate that both teachers were from Connally Junior High. Natalia Chansler, a 41-year-old sixth-grade social studies teacher, passed away on Saturday, while David McCormick, a 59-year-old seventh-grade social studies teacher, died just days prior. District Assistant Superintendent Jill Bottelberghe mentioned that there is currently no established link between the two fatalities, noting they taught different grades within the same subject area.
