If you’re looking for a nostalgic trip down memory lane just before the weekend, here’s a fun fact that might make you feel a bit older: our beloved couple from the classic series Saved by the Bell, Zach and Kelly, have reached their 27th anniversary. Yes, they could easily be grandparents by now!

Just yesterday marked 27 years since Zach Morris (played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Thiessen) tied the knot in the iconic TV movie, Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas. Thiessen charmingly commemorated the occasion by sharing a sweet throwback photo of the duo on Instagram, captioning it, “Happy 27th Anniversary Kelly & Zach! Way to keep the love going,” along with the hashtag #friendsforever.

Wedding in Las Vegas served as the series finale for the original Saved by the Bell, which first aired in 1989 and followed a group of friends navigating life at the fictional Bayside High School in California. The show became a cherished ’90s sitcom, and audiences were deeply invested in Zach and Kelly’s romance.

During the wedding, many familiar faces from the cast, including Slater and Lisa, made appearances, seamlessly transitioning from their high school days. Zach’s affection for Kelly was legendary, making their engagement and wedding must-see events back then. It’s no surprise that Thiessen wanted to honor this special day with a heartfelt post.

Fans rejoiced when Peacock aired a reboot of the show, featuring Zach and Kelly living their best lives together. Zach is now the governor of California, and their son, Max, is attending Bayside High—just like his dad.

While Gosselaar didn’t post anything on social media to mark the occasion, he has been busy working on a podcast titled Zach to the Future, where he reviews episodes of Saved by the Bell—a show he hadn’t watched in 25 years. He collaborates with Dashiell Driscoll, who writes for the reboot and created the Funny or Die series Zach Morris is Trash.

Of course, their love story had its share of drama. Remember Jeff, the college sophomore who briefly stole Kelly’s heart? Zach and Kelly’s breakup was a tough moment, and Jeff was dubbed “the most hated man in Saved by the Bell history.” Fortunately, everything turned out well for Zach and Kelly, who remain the epitome of happily ever after in our ’90s hearts. Happy 27th, you two!
