The actor, who transitioned from being one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors to a devoted family man after marrying renowned barrister Amal Clooney, has been vigilant about keeping their twins out of the public eye. Despite their efforts, Clooney noted that photographers often pursue his children.
In his letter, he stated, “Having just seen photos of Billie Lourd’s 1 year-old baby in your publication, and the fact that you subsequently took those pictures down, we would request that you refrain from putting our children’s faces in your publication.” He acknowledged that as a public figure, he accepts the occasional invasive photographs, but emphasized that his children have not chosen this life.
Clooney elaborated on the potential dangers of such images, particularly given his wife’s profession, which involves confronting terrorist organizations. “We cannot protect our children if any publication puts their faces on their cover,” he stressed. “We have never sold a picture of our kids, we are not on social media, and never post pictures because to do so would put their lives in jeopardy.“
One Twitter user echoed Clooney’s sentiments about the need for safety over advertising profits. The Daily Mail has yet to respond to Clooney’s request.
