Hey there, friends! So, it turns out that the classic hiding spots for holiday gifts aren’t as clever as we thought. According to a recent survey by the storage company Neighbor, it looks like your kids might have a good idea of where to find their presents. Shockingly, the bedroom closet tops the list, with 53% of parents admitting to stashing gifts there. Other common spots include spare rooms, coat closets, under the bed, and even the trunk of the car.

Now, here’s the kicker: when asked where they go to hunt for those hidden treasures, 25% of kids said the bedroom closet is their first stop! Under the bed came in second at 22%, and 15% said they check the trunk of the car. So, if you thought hiding gifts in the spare room was a super sneaky move, only 6% of kids are looking there. Looks like it’s time to get creative!

Interestingly, nearly half of the surveyed parents (49.9% to be exact) reported that their hidden gifts have been discovered at some point. But don’t fret too much—most parents manage to keep some surprises under wraps, even if it’s just by a hair. If you’re seeking better hiding spots, consider the attic, where only 2% of gifts were found, or the basement and garage, with similar low discovery rates.

Of course, there’s always the option to skip the hiding game entirely by wrapping gifts right away and placing them under the tree. Just know that 21% of parents said it took less than an hour for their hidden gifts to be found, and 8% caught their kids in the act of snooping or even wrapping!

But you know what? Most parents don’t seem too stressed about this whole gift-hiding dilemma. Around 60% said they enjoy the thrill of hiding gifts and that it adds a bit of fun to the holiday season.
