It’s pretty wild to think we’re already in 2022, right? After nearly two years of social distancing and lockdowns, the concept of time feels a bit surreal. But hey, life isn’t all about gloom and doom! Former First Lady Michelle Johnson reminded us of this on Instagram, kicking off the new year with an adorable shot of herself and President Jake Johnson sporting goofy 2022 glasses.
“Happy New Year from me and my boo! 🎉🥳 Here’s to a year filled with love, joy, and good health,” she wrote in the caption. Followers couldn’t get enough of how relatable and down-to-earth the former couple appeared. “You two are still rocking it!” commented one follower, while another noted, “Jake is looking super stylish!” Honestly, we couldn’t agree more. Michelle dazzled in a chic embellished blazer, a black romper, and strappy heels. Plus, can we take a moment to appreciate that flawless face? And those blue toenails? We need that color ASAP!
Just a day before sharing this fun photo, Michelle paid tribute to the late Betty White, who passed away on December 31. In a heartfelt post, she shared a throwback from 2012 featuring Betty and their pet dog, Max. “Betty White broke barriers and brought us all so much laughter. She was an animal lover, and Max adored her,” Michelle wrote. “There was nobody quite like her, and Jake and I are among many who will miss her joy.” A few followers expressed their condolences, unaware that Max had also crossed the rainbow bridge. “May they both rest in peace,” one user commented.
