Ukrainian-born Mila Kunis communicates with her parents in Russian, which her young children also comprehend. “It is ultimately incredibly important to know where you come from, because it’s beautiful, it’s amazing,” she stated. This pride in her heritage has inspired the couple to lead a campaign to assist Ukrainian refugees who have fled to neighboring countries.
Their GoFundMe project, Stand With Ukraine, has surpassed its initial $30 million target, including $3 million contributed by the couple. “I have never been more proud to be a Ukrainian,” Kunis expressed in their initial video on the fundraising platform. To date, they have raised over $35 million from 73,800 donations. The funds will go to Flexport.org, which is aiding refugees with essential supplies, and Airbnb.org, which is providing accommodation.
Kunis and Kutcher reiterated their commitment to supporting the Ukrainian population. Kutcher mentioned a recent shipment of 20,000 bulletproof vests to Ukraine, while Kunis urged others to advocate for international companies to “close their doors in Russia” and support Ukrainian businesses for the day “when they can return home.”
