Did I Actually Just Say That?

Parenting is an adventure filled with unexpected moments, and it’s no surprise that both kids and parents can exhibit some pretty odd behavior. This is why I found myself laughing over a series of prints by Lucas Thompson, a graphic designer and father of four from Nebraska.

“I have genuinely uttered that phrase,” I thought. And trust me, I’m not alone in this! For instance, if you swap out honey for maple syrup, I can assure you I’ve had that conversation more than once. There are phrases I haven’t said yet, but they’re probably just around the corner. Then there are those daily reminders like, “Please don’t pick your nose and eat it,” and “Stop chewing on your shirt; that’s unsanitary.”

If we were to attend church regularly, I’d probably find myself saying even more outrageous things! But as they say, there’s always tomorrow to try again. For those curious, you can check out these humorous prints and others in Lucas’s Etsy shop.
