Do you recall the frustration of spending hours trying to lull your baby into a peaceful slumber, only to have some inconsiderate individual ring the doorbell, ruining everything? That moment, where you are left with a wailing, overtired child and a newfound disdain for doorbells, is one that lingers painfully in memory.

In times past, Etsy offered charming signs begging visitors to refrain from ringing the bell. While they were delightful and polite, I found them wholly inadequate when I had a newborn. If someone dared to disturb my sleeping baby with a doorbell, gentle requests were not sufficient for me.

Sadly, the phase of worrying over waking a sleeping baby has passed, only to be replaced by a new challenge: the unwelcome consumption or misuse of items I specifically purchased for my own enjoyment. Take, for example, the incident when I bought a pint of emergency coffee chip ice cream, only to discover that someone had picked out the chocolate chunks and left clear signs of having microwaved and refrozen it. Consequently, my ice cream now carries a stern warning.

Moreover, there’s the deep conditioner that my daughter, Emma, insists on using despite my repeated reminders about its high cost and that her hair doesn’t require it. I’ve had to label it, making it clear that it’s off-limits.

Would you like to deter those pesky neighborhood kids selling cookies in the afternoon or assert ownership over chips, jewelry, and bath salts? Now you can! Kidecals has been my go-to source for personalized stickers and decals, and I’m thrilled to announce I’ve created a special line of decals and door signs with them. Prices start at just five dollars, and shipping is free regardless of quantity—what’s not to love? Isn’t it high time we reclaimed what’s rightfully ours?
