What to Buy (and What to Skip!) for Multiples

Finding out you’re expecting multiples can be an exhilarating yet overwhelming experience. With the mix of joy and anxiety, it’s easy to get swept up in a shopping spree. You may feel tempted to grab every gadget and accessory designed for parents of twins or more, but hold on a second! Not everything out there is essential.

In my journey as a new mom of twins, I learned a thing or two about what was really useful and what just took up space. Here’s a rundown of what I found to be must-haves and what I wish I had skipped:

Must-Have Item: Baby Jogger City Select Stroller

This stroller comes highly recommended for its versatility. While many suggest starting with a basic Double Snap n Go for the first few months, the Baby Jogger City Select is a game changer. It accommodates infant car seats, its own bassinets, and then transforms into a stroller for older babies. You can configure it in several ways: facing each other, facing you, or facing out. Plus, it has “stadium style” seating, which means one seat is higher than the other. The only downside? You can’t see the baby in the back when using car seats.

Item to Skip: Twin Feeding Pillow

I was convinced that a twin feeding pillow would save me time by allowing me to feed both babies simultaneously. However, I found feeding one baby at a time to be much easier. When I do attempt tandem feeding, I’ve had just as much luck using regular pillows. The struggle to find the right feeding position and place can be tricky, and honestly, I didn’t find that the twin feeding pillow made it any more efficient. So, I’d recommend skipping this one!

Have you discovered any baby items that you can’t live without? Or maybe some you regret purchasing?
