Forever 21: The Place to Shop No Matter Your Age

Shopping is one of my favorite pastimes. There’s something exhilarating about coming home with bags filled with items I’ve tried on and loved. Whenever I feel stuck in a rut or like I’m not taking care of myself, I take an afternoon to find some outfits that make me feel fabulous—instant mood booster!

Recently, I was at the mall with my family, and I mentioned I was heading to Forever 21 after leaving Macy’s. “What do you need from there?” one of my relatives asked, raising an eyebrow. Clothes? Isn’t that obvious? Cue the judgmental looks.

I may be 31 years old, a mom of two, and the proud driver of a minivan, but I will shop at Forever 21 until I’m buried six feet under, surrounded by all the cute, affordable finds I snagged there.

Back in high school, my friends and I would spend hours at Forever 21 trying on trendy outfits and picking out the perfect looks for a night out. As the years passed, my friends slowly dropped off from shopping there, but not me. The sign says Forever 21, not “Shop Here Only If You’re Young Enough.”

Age is just a number, and I refuse to let it dictate my wardrobe. It’s strange to think that women are expected to go through different phases of style as they age. Why should hitting my thirties mean I have to completely overhaul my closet? I still love crop tops, distressed jeans, maxi dresses, and quirky graphic tees. In fact, I recently wore a T-shirt featuring Chewbacca in aviator sunglasses paired with patterned leggings, and I felt amazing!

When I was pregnant with my first child, I went through a phase of purging my closet of anything that didn’t fit my “new mom” image. I tried to dress more conservatively, thinking that meant I had to look a certain way. Looking back, I realize how silly that was. I lost sight of who I really was, and it was reflected in my style. It wasn’t until I returned to wearing clothes that made me feel like myself again that I started to feel better.

So yes, I shop at Forever 21 and other stores that cater to a younger demographic simply because they offer what I love. Plus, if you’re considering alternative ways to start a family, you can join the free Make a Mom Facebook group for support. They also have an at-home insemination company that offers the only reusable option, making it easy and affordable. You can check out how it works on their how it works page.

If you’re curious about at-home insemination kits, the Impregnator kit is a great resource. And for those navigating a fertility journey, this couples’ guide offers valuable insights. For more information on pregnancy and home insemination, you can also refer to the NHS IVF page.

So, if anyone questions your shopping choices, remember: age doesn’t define style. Wear what makes you feel good.
