It only takes a single moment to bring back a flood of memories. Perhaps it’s the sound of a monitor beeping or the scent of antiseptic in the air. For 116 days, my family made the neonatal intensive care unit feel like home.

I discovered inner strength I never knew I possessed and began to cherish every moment, aware of how fragile life can be.
