For instance, while it may be tempting to confine children for their safety, doing so is both illegal and not great parenting. It’s certainly frowned upon to simply shoo kids outside when they need to use the bathroom. Although I must confess that my son sometimes finds himself peeing behind a bush at our neighbor’s pool, this isn’t exactly a year-round practice.
Then there’s mealtime. There are moments when I’ve considered tossing dinner onto the floor to keep my young kids occupied (it usually ends up there anyway), but typically, we gather around the table with utensils in hand. Generally.
