These breathtaking photos showcase Paris’ beauty in every season. For many, this winter feels like a relentless stretch of cold and gloom. However, for those in the City of Light, the scene is remarkably different. Recent images reveal that winter in Paris is, indeed, a dream come true.
Snow is a rarity in Paris, even in the chilliest months of the year. Yet, after experiencing an unprecedented snowfall of six inches yesterday, the charming cityscapes we adore from classic films and postcards are blanketed in snow for the first time in ages. While Paris typically sees about 15 snow days annually, it hasn’t had significant snow accumulation since 1987, as reported by The Mercury News.
Although the city was somewhat caught off guard by this “petit blizzard,” Parisians embraced the enchanting sight of their city transformed by snow. These photos truly evoke a sense of wonder.

Having visited this city during my college days (and I assure you, I was quite broke), these images still bring tears to my eyes a decade later. Paris truly is a place of magic.
Vehicles made their way through the heavy snowfall past the Arc de Triomphe late on February 6, 2018. With over 700 kilometers of traffic jams, the Eiffel Tower closed its doors, and public transport faced disruptions due to the snowfall affecting the northern half of France. Frigid temperatures prompted 22 departments to activate their “extreme cold” plans.
