“Just last week, I said goodbye to my sweet boy as I left for work, unaware it would be my final farewell,” Alex shared. “Every week, there are 3 to 5 reported cases of pet suffocation, with 42% occurring while the owner is just a room away. It takes only about three minutes for their oxygen levels to drop to a fatal state,” she noted. Alex aims to share Max’s story because she had no idea this hazard existed, despite considering herself a vigilant pet parent. “In fact, 90% of the pet owners impacted had never been aware of this risk until it happened to them, and that includes us. Chip bags, cereal bags, bread bags, and treat bags are among the most frequent culprits,” she cautioned.
