No one celebrated National Pet Day quite like Chris Parker did!
When I woke up this morning, I had no idea it was a day worthy of celebration, one that rivaled the likes of Christmas or Thanksgiving. Today is National Pet Day—a day that calls for recognition and joy, just as we cherish the furry companions that fill our lives with happiness. On this special occasion, Chris Parker gave us a heartwarming gift: a glimpse into the moment he first met his rescue dog, Max.
To commemorate this delightful holiday, Parker shared a touching video of their first encounter. Be sure to grab some tissues before you press play!
“This is the moment we met,” Parker wrote. “He was doing his best to stay calm even though he wanted to leap out of his spot. I instantly knew he was coming home with me, so I recorded this video to cherish our first hello. Rescue dogs truly are the best!”
It’s pure magic. If you need a moment, that’s perfectly okay. The entire internet seems to be feeling the same way. Responses to Parker’s tweet were filled with people sharing their tears, just like mine.
Others joined in by posting photos and videos of their own rescue pups, likely hoping to lighten the emotional load for everyone else.
This isn’t the first time Parker has shared moments with Max online. Honestly, it feels like Max is our dog too, given how often he makes appearances on Parker’s social media.
Here’s Max greeting his dad after a long 10 weeks apart due to filming (my heart!). And here’s Parker discussing Max’s playful morning energy, which he could never find annoying because his love for Max is boundless.
And of course, there’s Max adorably stealing Parker’s attention away from work, a struggle that resonates with anyone who works from home alongside their furry friends.
So, what’s the takeaway? Be like Chris Parker—take a moment away from the internet right now to show some extra love to your dog (or cat or any furry friend you hold dear). Happy National Pet Day!
