I want you to know that I am here for you, always. From the very beginning, even when you were just a tiny spark of life in my belly, I was there. I felt heavy, tired, and swollen, yet I held on because you were worth every moment.
During the intense hours of labor, when I felt I could go on no longer, I remained steadfast with you. I remember holding you for the first time, soaking in the scent of your soft skin. Those late nights at 3 a.m. and again at 3:45 a.m., as I stumbled through the dark to soothe you back to sleep, are etched in my heart. I was there, negotiating with the universe for just a few more minutes of quiet.
I’ve shared in your struggles, like when I felt overwhelmed from exhaustion, my clothes no longer fitting, and my hair a tangled mess. And I still stand by you when you sneak into my bed, pushing me to the edge, or when you throw a fit over dinner as if I’m serving poison. Even when you roll your eyes and walk away in frustration, know that my love for you endures.
I cherish our cozy movie nights on the couch, even amidst your endless questions before I’ve had my morning coffee. Yes, I have my grumpy moments too, and I know you can sense it. I struggle to keep calm during the chaos of lost socks and shoes when we’re already late. Yet, I’m always there for a hug, even when you might push me away.
I don’t claim to be perfect; I stumble often and make mistakes. But I promise my support will never waver. Whether you excel in school or face challenges, I will be there. Your successes and your missteps are part of life, and I understand more than you might think.
No matter what path you choose—becoming an astronaut, a teacher, or simply navigating through life’s ups and downs—I will always be cheering for you. You have nothing to prove to me; my love is unconditional, and I will always be your biggest fan.
I would choose you over all the restful nights and painless days, again and again. You are my forever.
With all my love,
Mom
