Despite having a smooth travel experience up until that point, Zander became upset during one leg of the flight, causing his mother, Lisa Thompson, to feel overwhelmed. She shared her experience on social media, expressing how it felt like the entire plane was focused on their situation. “It’s disheartening when people don’t understand that my son is not just misbehaving; he has special needs that affect his reactions,” she conveyed in her post.
The turning point came when Delta flight attendant Jenna Carter stepped in. Initially attempting to distract Zander with a movie, Jenna ultimately proposed an airplane tour. This simple gesture not only calmed Zander but also transformed the situation into a joyful experience. “When they returned, Zander was much calmer and so happy to have made a new friend,” Lisa wrote, garnering over 2,700 likes and more than 500 shares.
