TJ Maxx is once again accepting online orders after temporarily suspending them due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Known for its delightful selection of stylish home decor, chic candles, affordable designer items, and children’s toys, TJ Maxx had to close its physical stores and halt e-commerce operations as the virus spread. Now, with many consumers shifting to online shopping, the company is reopening its website for orders.
Safety First
Ernest Taylor, CEO of TJX, emphasized the importance of safety as they resume operations. “With various states and countries beginning to reopen, we are also re-launching our stores and online platforms, while prioritizing health and safety protocols,” he stated. Taylor noted that daily online order limits will be enforced across their brands, including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and Sierra, to maintain safety standards.
In-Store Safety Measures
Safety measures will also be implemented in physical stores as they reopen. “We have installed protective barriers at checkout counters, added social distancing markers, revised our merchandise return processes, and enhanced cleaning routines for high-touch areas throughout the day,” Taylor added. Customers will be required to wear face masks while shopping in-store.
Online Shopping Experience
During this limited online order period, shoppers may encounter a message indicating that the order cap has been reached. While purchases may be temporarily unavailable, browsing is still encouraged, and for dedicated Maxxinistas, that’s a thrill in itself.
Return Policy
If you have items to return from before the closure, there’s no need to worry. The store will accept returns without considering the original purchase date. “You can make in-store returns within 30 days after we reopen and online returns within 40 days of our website reopening,” they confirmed last month.
