Liam Carter and his partner, David Reynolds, are all set to embrace parenthood! In a delightful twist, this year’s Pride celebration has become particularly meaningful for the couple as they reveal they are expecting twins – a boy and a girl – via a surrogate, arriving later this fall.
In a comedic TikTok video, the duo humorously portrayed the upcoming arrival of their children as a thriller. The spoof trailer features them enjoying dinner while eerie baby cries echo throughout their home, shadowy figures of children lurking in the hallways, and culminating with a suspenseful reveal of two buns in a glowing oven—get it? Two buns in the oven! Naturally, Liam added the playful hashtag #zaddies to the post.
While the TikTok suggested a Halloween arrival, Liam and David shared with People that the twins are actually due in November. This announcement is a joyous milestone for the couple, who tied the knot in 2014 and have faced numerous challenges in their journey to parenthood. Over the past four years, they’ve navigated through nine different egg donors, several surrogacy attempts, and unsuccessful IVF treatments. Last year, their surrogate was pregnant with twins, but they sadly experienced a miscarriage.
“After everything we’ve gone through, we were hesitant to get too excited,” Liam confessed to People. “It’s tough because when you find out you’re pregnant, you want to celebrate with loved ones and imagine their future, but we were so fearful of heartbreak again. We finally felt comfortable sharing the news around the ninth week.”
Liam and David explained that they fertilized half the eggs from their egg retrieval, resulting in two healthy embryos, paving the way for their dream of having two children. “Growing up, I envisioned having a family, and there were moments when I thought it wouldn’t happen for me,” Liam expressed. “But now we’re realizing that we deserve this, and we can make it a reality.”
“We’ve always wanted at least two kids, and having a boy and a girl feels like a wonderful experience for us as parents,” he added, marveling at the advancements in science that allow couples to create healthy families.
Congratulations to the soon-to-be parents!
