This perspective shift has been invaluable.
However, there are situations where humor can feel elusive. Recently, my household has been overtaken by an unwelcome visitor: lice. The sheer volume of laundry piling up is not funny. The unpleasantness of using lice treatment shampoos that trigger tears and gag reflexes is far from amusing. The sight of every stuffed animal and doll sealed in bags in the basement is distressing.
