In an unexpected twist, the classic T-Rex costume is making waves at weddings and engagement shoots despite the dinosaur’s supposed extinction. However, it’s Nicole Harper from Calgary, Canada, who has truly outdone everyone with her hilarious boudoir photo shoot featuring this iconic costume.

Harper shared with us her desire to inject some humor into her boudoir session, inspired by a friend’s playful suggestion in their online parenting group. “A fellow mom jokingly mentioned a T-Rex boudoir shoot she did, and I thought it would be a perfect way to surprise my fiancé before our wedding,” she explained.

Enter her friend and photographer, Lily Morgan, who was more than willing to help bring this whimsical idea to life. “I’ve known Nicole through our online mom group for years,” Morgan said. “I had been photographing her family since her son was a newborn. When she expressed interest in a boudoir shoot, I was thrilled, especially since I had an inflatable dinosaur costume from Halloween just waiting for a creative use.”

The camaraderie within mom groups shines brightly, showcasing how they support each other during the challenges of parenthood and join in on fun adventures, like posing for sexy photos in a dinosaur suit.

Morgan described the shoot as a blend of laughter and chaos. “This was unlike anything I had ever photographed. Nicole struggled to move in the costume, leading to some hilarious moments, including her attempting to ‘do the worm’ while on the bed! I found myself pausing to catch my breath from laughing, as my mascara was running down my face,” she said.

Harper found that the boudoir photos were far from conventional, especially while donning the T-Rex suit. “It was incredibly hot and quite awkward to maneuver,” she recalled. The session took place while her fiancé was away at his bachelor party, but her three-year-old son almost exposed her secret. “My son, Oliver, thought it was the coolest thing ever and nearly spilled the beans when Chris returned home by saying, ‘Mommy’s a dinosaur!’ Thankfully, we have a dinosaur-themed bathroom, so I quickly said we were just playing pretend.”

After tying the knot on July 1st, Harper was eager to reveal her unique photos to her husband. Unfortunately, the big moment didn’t go as planned. She created a photo book for him, but he closed it upon seeing some more intimate boudoir shots upfront, not wanting his groomsmen to see. Eventually, when he did look through it, he couldn’t stop laughing, particularly at an image of her humorously picking her teeth amidst the more serious shots.

Not everyone was amused by the idea, though. “My youngest son, Max, who was just nine months old during the shoot, wasn’t exactly thrilled about the costume,” she admitted.

While a dinosaur-themed boudoir shoot may seem extravagant, it liberates participants from the typical constraints of posing for sexy photos and offers a playful reminder of their fun side. Plus, it ensures that her husband will always remember that he married a true “sexy beast.”

Summary

Nicole Harper’s T-Rex-themed boudoir shoot in Calgary has become a standout example of creativity and humor in capturing intimate moments. With the support of her friend and photographer, Lily Morgan, the session was filled with laughter and unique challenges, ultimately leading to a memorable reveal for her husband. This playful approach to boudoir photography highlights the joy of embracing one’s silly side while celebrating love.
