8 Things I’m Completely Over Because I’m Too Old and Tired for Nonsense

Let’s be real: being an adult often feels like a never-ending cycle of dealing with stuff you’d rather avoid. And when you toss parenting into the mix, that burden just multiplies. Between handling bills, juggling mortgages, and enduring Monday morning conference calls, the adult life can be a drag. I’m fine with keeping things civil during those excruciating soccer games, but let’s not kid ourselves about friendship.

2. Passive Aggressiveness and Humblebrags.

Seriously, the amount of eye-rolling I’ve done at those humblebrags on social media is becoming a full-time job. And the snarky comments? My go-to response has become “bless your heart,” which is just a nice way of saying “shut it.” I’m done with pettiness.

3. Low-Fat Everything.

Life is too short for food that leaves you feeling disappointed and underwhelmed. Give me the real deal or nothing at all.

4. Fake News.

The news cycle is already a mess; I don’t need any more fabricated stories added to the chaos.

5. Social Media Drama.

Can we agree that those soapbox rants filmed from the car have run their course? And the ALL CAPS shouting? No, thank you! I get enough chaos from my kids; I don’t need it from my feed. Fortunately, the “Unfriend” button exists, and it’s my new best friend. It’s a quick way to escape the negativity and cringe-worthy posts that make me question humanity.

6. Bigots.

Let’s cut to the chase: if you think your race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion makes you superior, I have zero time for your nonsense. Bye, Felicia!

7. Judgmental Parents.

It seems like judging each other is part of the parenting game nowadays. Enough already! We’re all doing the best we can, and that’s good enough. I don’t need extra stress from the judgment of others.

8. Toxic Commenters.

I’m too old to deal with your ridiculous comments that show you didn’t even read the article. If you’re going to spread misinformation or be rude, just don’t. It’s really that simple.

The list of unnecessary stressors goes on, but I’m ready to dump the weight. None of us is getting any younger, and our kids already add plenty to our bullshit bucket. So, it’s time to let go of the extra crap. I could throw in a trendy hashtag like #SorryNotSorry, but let’s be honest—I’m just too worn out for that too.
